National Prosecution Academy of Ukraine was established in 2002 by the Decree of the government of Ukraine. Educational policy of the academy is directed to providing high-quality initial Masters of Law training on specialized Magistrate study programme, continuous training of prosecutors and scientific research in the field of current prosecution activity, Ukrainian law enforcement system reforming and crime combating. To ensure successful realization of both educational and scientific targets such subject as English for prosecutors has become an important part of the academic curriculum since 2005. So when distinguishing the scope of specific language knowledge and skills for prosecutors the ESP instructors have to take into account international strategies of the academy that include broadening students possibility to participate in international joint curricula and research programmes, their more active involvement in distance education, international scientific and research exchanges, hosting foreign delegations and also participation in the activity of international professional organizations and associations. The presentation is going to focus on ESP as a combination of general and special(professional) language knowledge and skills, syllabus materials selection and methodologies used to provide conscious and effective ppofessional communication to meet international strategy of National Prosecution Academy of Ukraine as well as illustration of some outcome of student ESP studies.
